File for refund

Even though your ticket was not dismissed, FIX A FINE can still help.  You have many options available to you which we have outlined below.

File for Refund form

Take No Further Action – If you have already paid the bail amount, then you can take no further action.  However, even though the judge may not have ruled in your favor, you can still fight your ticket in court.

Fight it in Court – The California court system affords you the opportunity to fight your ticket again with a trial de novo by personally appearing or hiring an attorney to represent your interests.  To get started in fighting your ticket again, you must fill out a Form TR-220 and file it with the court within 20 days from the date the verdict was sent to you.

Take Traffic School – If you lost your ticket and wish to attend traffic school, you may do so at the judge’s discretion.  Most judges will grant traffic school once you request it.  You may send the court a letter along with the standard fee for traffic school requesting the judge to grant traffic school to you.  You may also make this request during your “trial de novo.”

Stumbling upon Fix a Fine was the best thing that happened to me when I first got my ticket. I was on a desperate look out for help and definitely was not looking forward to trying to fight it on my own. Fortunately, these guys efficiently carried out their promises and got my ticket dismissed! "
